In March 2022, JPC was excited to be able to return to hosting a delegation of students from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, following a lengthy pause due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The week-long trip was devoted to the students gaining a first hand impression of Israel’s peoples and cultures, challenges and inspiring innovations.
In March 2019, JPC hosted journalism students and faculty from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University for the second time. The group spent ten intense days in Israel and the Palestinian territories where they were exposed to the different societies and their challenges and opportunities, from a unique journalistic point of view.
In March 2018, journalism students and faculty from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University took part in a ten day rich tour around Israel and the Palestinian territories, learning about the complexities, various perspectives and the many layers this unique region has to offer.
In November 2018, JPC partnered with an international seminar that took place in Berlin under the topic of “Identity”. Five Israeli journalists have met with Palestinian and German journalists to explore and discuss together the topic of identity, immigration, antisemitism and Islamophobia
In December 2017, graduate journalism students from UC Berkeley took part in JPC’s 10-day student delegation- “Covering Israel and the Middle East”- sponsored by the Helen Diller Foundation. The students experienced the wide variety of people, locations and issues that Israelis and Palestinians deal with currently, and learned about the complexities of the region as well of its cultural and humanistic aspects.
In June 2017, students and faculty from the CUNY (City University Of New York) Graduate School of Journalism, visited Israel and the Palestinian Territories as part of JPC’s special program for graduate journalism students. During their rich 10-day program, the participants were exposed to the diverse narratives in the region and acquired a more nuanced perspective of the complex Middle Eastern scene.
In August 2017, students and faculty from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication visited Israel and the Palestinian Territories as part of JPC’s special program for graduate journalism students. During their rich 10-day program, the participants were exposed to many different opinions and views in the region, gaining a more nuanced perspective of the complex Middle East.
Following the success of our programs, a group of City University of New York’s International Reporting Program graduates and faculty from the one of the leading schools in America came on June. The group consisted of 18 graduate students with varied backgrounds and ethnic origins and 2 faculty, including Prof. Prue Clarke, Director of the International Reporting Program and former reporter at the Financial Times, The Guardian (and on–discard) CNN, CBC, BBC and NPR. The group stayed in Israel May 29th until June 7th , 2016.
Following the success of our program in 2014-5, a third group of students and faculty from the Medill Graduate School of Journalism at Northwestern University (Chicago), one of the leading schools in America,came to Israel on 29/8/2016-8/9/2016. The group consists of 10 graduate students with varied backgrounds and ethnic origins and 3 faculty, including Prof. Tim McNulty, Co-Director of the National Security Journalism Initiative and former correspondent of the Chicago Tribune in Jerusalem.
Students and faculty from the Medill Journalism School at Northwestern University participated in the JPC trip titled “Covering Israel and the Middle East”. During their 10-day stay, they met with Israelis and Palestinians, secular and Ultra-Orthodox Jews, Knesset Members and human rights activists, students, Israeli and foreign journalists, touring throughout Israel and the Palestinian territories. According to their own testimony, they realized the complexity of the Israeli scene and the challenges to professional journalists assigned to cover it.

In June, students from the University of Miami participated in the JPC trip for the first ever student delegation of the Jerusalem Press Club titled: “Jerusalem Seminar: Reporting on Israel in the Middle East from Jerusalem”. The students experienced a month long trip all over Israel learning about the complexities and complicated situations that are taking place in the Middle Eastern region.
