JPC took leading foreign journalists on a unique tour of the Temple Mount and the Arab and Jewish Quarters of the Old City, following a rise in the number of stabbing/shooting attacks in Jerusalem. Guiding the group through the alleyways of the area at the heart of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was former Shin Bet security coordinator of the Temple Mount and Old City, Ami Meitav.
The group met with a hotelier who also serves on the Jordanian Waqf’s board, and is actively involved in local political activism in the Arab community. They were briefed by the head of tourism at the Jerusalem Development Authority, and were hosted by the deputy head of the Orayta Yeshiva to learn about the challenges of hosting students abroad during the pandemic and times of heightened security.
