Ehud Yaari, the Commentator for Arab Affairs at Channel 2 TV and author of eight books on the Arab-Israeli conflict, spoke at the JPC on the current Israeli-Palestinian situation. Mr. Yaari reviewed the events and trends in the Middle East and commented on the close ties with Sunni powers in the region and the rapprochement with Turkey. As per the prospects of a progress in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Mr. Yaari gave a pessimistic assessment, saying that in his opinion (which he holds for many years), the Palestinians will never settle for what has been offered to them, even in the most generous offers.
