A Press Briefing with a NASA Astronaut

On Monday, March 26, 2019,  the Jerusalem Press Club, in collaboration with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, the Tel Aviv University, the Israeli Space Agency and the Israeli Air Force, were honored to host NASA astronaut Richard (Ricky) Arnold.
The astronaut first came to Israel in January 2016, in order to lecture and participate in the events that were held in memory of the first Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, whot was killed during the Columbia Space Shuttle mission.
During his visit, Mr. Arnold met Professor Yossi Leshem from Tel Aviv University, former CEO of the SPNI, and it turned out that the astronaut was a keen birder and nature enthusiast. This led to his current 2-week visit together with his wife, hosted by SPNI, the Hoopoe Foundation, the Jerusalem Foundation, Tel Aviv University and the Israeli Air Force.
The astronaut  lectured about his activity in space and  was glad to answer questions, including the way astronauts and cosmonauts see the world;  his experience being in outer space; the work in the international space station and NASA; and the collaboration with international partners on the way to Mars.
