The JPC was honored to host Israeli musician David Broza, Palestinian-Israeli musician Mira Awad and the producer and director of the movie “East Jerusalem \ West Jerusalem” for a wonderful evening about co-existence and music. They spoke of the visions that brought the movie to life and sang several songs from the album which was the fruit of this musical project. “This movie and our music may not change the world”, Broza said, “but it changed our lives, and that’s important too”. The evening included a viewing of parts of the movie, Broza and Awad singing a few songs from the album and a short Q&A session for the many journalists who attended.
About “East Jerusalem \ West Jerusalem”: In early 2013 Israeli singer-songwriter David Broza went to a Palestinian Studio in East Jerusalem, pursuing his years-old dream to make music a bridge builder between Palestinian and Israelis. 8 days and 8 nights of music, food and camaraderie produce a groundbreaking album and a unique story, told in the movie.

About David Broza:
David Broza was born in Haifa and raised in Spain and the UK. His father was the founder of the Arab-Israeli Peace settlement Neve Shalom – Wāħat as-Salām (The Oasis of Peace), and David himself became an activist who is committed to several humanitarian causes. Broza was appointed a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. His song “Together” (co-written with Ramsey McLean) was the theme song for the UNICEF 50th anniversary celebration in more than 148 countries. He toured the Middle East with Jordanian musician Hani Nasser to promote peace through music. They were invited by the Israeli and Jordanian governments to perform in concert during the peace signing ceremony between the two countries.He has been creating and recording music for almost 40 years.
